Each year leading up to Dreamforce I feel overwhelmed with anticipation. So much to prepare, so much to do, so much to see… Then the Friday after Dreamforce I look back and it seems like that time flew by in one gigantic blur. Don’t let time get the best of you! There is so much to see come Dreamforce, the only way to get in the game is to stay ahead of it.

That’s why this year at Dreamforce we are launching a new hands-on workshop program that is specifically designed for app builders of  any technical or non-technical background to be able to build an app and tinker on the Salesforce1 Platform in the DevZone. The hands-on workshops can be found on the 2nd floor of Moscone West in breakout rooms 2020, 2022, and 2024. They are BYOD with power stations, internet hard wire cables for those who show up on time (or early!), and a digital workbook to follow for hands-on exercises. You’ll go through a 2.5 hour class with an MVP or Developer User Group (DUG) leader who will teach a series of lessons with hands-on exercises peppered in between.

Workshop Tracks for Everyone

We tried to incorporate a little something for everyone…

  • Introduction to Point-and-Click App Building on Force.comBeginner – Any Role: Do you want to learn how you can build apps using purely point-and-click tools? Do you consider yourself a problem solver or logical thinker but don’t know where to start with Salesforce app building? Join this session to unlock your inner app builder and learn how to start implementing your own ideas.
  • Coding on Force.com for Admins and Non-DevelopersIntermediate – Admin / Business User: Are you a rockstar at point-and-click tools, want to dabble on the coding side of the platform, but have no formal coding background? Join this session to get introduced to coding on Force.com for non-coders.
  • Introduction to Development on Force.com for DevelopersBeginner – Developer: Are you a developer who is new to the Salesforce1 platform? If you have written code before, but still find Salesforce tools to be an enigma, join this workshop to fast ramp your development cycles using Apex and Visualforce.
  • Intermediate Development on Heroku and Force.comIntermediate – Developer: Are you a seasoned developer to the Salesforce1 platform but looking to learn more advanced concepts like integrating with Canvas using our REST API or build Visualforce with a popular JavaScript framework? This session is meant to take you beyond the basics and try out some new tech.

Are you interested in trying one of our hands-on workshops? Come learn from the best of the best in the community with expert staffers in the room to answer questions you have along the way. This is like a workbook on steroids because it will have career stories, live demos, context into “why” in addition to instruction on the “how”.

Look for the sessions in Agenda Builder under the names specified above. If a class is full, bookmark the time slot anyway because we left room for walk-ins! We have beta tested this material over the past few months around the country, and this is not something you want to miss!

See you at Dreamforce!
