Day 1 of Developers@Dreamforce was an extraordinary day for our community. Monday kicked off in a 7,000+ person keynote led by Marc Benioff – the highlight was the announcement and demos of Force.com and Visualforce. The leadoff session for Developers@Dreamforce breakout sessions was the Platform State of the Union mini-keynote led by Adam Gross. In this session we recognized top ADN community members Steve Andersen, Scott Hemmeter and Michael Farrington. The rest of the day was a whirlwind of activity consisting of 4 other standing-room only sessions covering a deep-dive on Visualforce and other platform technologies including Apex code and SOA.

The Developer Lounge was the place to be at Dreamforce – with the crowds clamoring to get in, you’d think the ADN team was running the hottest nightclub in town! There was an flood of developers coming to the lounge to get attendee-only access to Visualforce for their Developer Edition accounts. Hundreds of conference goers were also rushing to the lounge to get their copies of the new "Force.com Cookbook" for advanced developers as well as the new edition of the "Creating On-Demand Apps" book – by the end of the day, we gave away over 2,500 books!
