If you’re in the Bay Area, and a five day week of hacking on Visualforce pages, Apex triggers and JavaScript callbacks is just not enough awesome for you, join us this Saturday, May 4th, for the very first ‘Salesforce Developer Garage’ event! Salesforce Platform Developer Relations are partnering with the Salesforce Foundation to present the Salesforce Non-Profit Developer Hackathon. Developers will form teams and flex their pro-bono coding muscles to solve real-world problems faced by three non-profits:

  • Alliance for Climate Education
Help ACE share data between two climate education organizations as their supporters transition from one to the other.
  • Net Impact
Make it easier for Net Impact to manage its products and services.
  • Health Leads
Assist Health Leads in activating and deactivating the hundreds of volunteer users who power their services.
Not only will the winners have the satisfaction of seeing their code adopted for a good cause, there are prizes – up to 4 Mac Minis for the winning team, Beats headsets for the runners up, and Jamboxes for third place.
The hackathon runs from 9am to 9pm at NextSpace Union Square, right next to the Powell Street BART station at 1 Hallidie Plaza, 2nd Floor, San Francisco, CA 94102 (map). As well as power and wifi, we’ll provide breakfast, lunch, dinner and, of course, a selection of beverages including fine craft ales.
