The EMEA team are excited to welcome two new members to the Developer Evangelist team: René Winkelmeyer and Philippe Ozil.
René Winkelmeyer (Germany)
René comes to Salesforce from having been Head of Engineering for a mobile security company. His focus was on mobile device and application management. Prior to that he has worn many hats and worked in a number of industries, including banking.
His background in banking made him highly sensitive to trust and security. Technology-wise René has worked with Eclipse RCP, JavaEE, and native iOS development.
He is an active member in the IBM Collaboration Solutions community for the last 16 years. René has been awarded the IBM Champion honor four times (the equivalent of a Salesforce MVP). He regularly speaks at conferences, always focusing on practical ready-to-use content.
Bringing together people who share a love of technologies is what drives René. He is excited to bring this passion for technology and communities as a Developer Evangelist for Salesforce.
When he is not working René tries to herd his kids, dogs, and cats – mostly successfully. He lives in the Sauerland region of Germany (or “the middle of nowhere” as he states it), a popular tourist area. René wants to remind people that he is German – and not to expect him to be very funny, even if he tries to be.
You can find him online on his personal blog or on Twitter as @muenzpraeger.
Philippe Ozil (France)
Before joining Salesforce, Philippe was a Technical Evangelist for Bonitasoft, an Open Source BPM software vendor. He engaged with the community on BPM and other technology topics like IoT, Java, and AngularJS. He grew into the role from becoming a BPM expert through his work as a Technical Consultant, and contributing to the core product. Prior to that experience, he was a Java and web developer.
A frequent speaker at developer conferences, Philippe loves to engage with communities. He is driven by innovation, best practices, and simplifying complex topics.
He is excited to work at as a Developer Evangelist with the fast growing Salesforce community, especially in France.
Philippe lives in Grenoble, France. He is passionate about mountain sports (hiking, climbing, trail running, snowboarding…). He also loves to travel to foreign countries and discover other cultures.
For football fans, he has no relationship with Mesut Özil, and in fact, prefers Rugby.
Philippe also maintains a personal blog and tweets as @PhilippeOzil.
