Increase Efficiencies with the Cloud Integration Hub

Scott Hedrick, Director Strategic Solutions Marketing, Informatica

Among other things, I am a huge automotive fan and have been since I was a kid. My family knows that I love interesting vehicles and consume every car magazine I get my hands on. Last year, my father and sister independently sent me subscriptions to Car and Driver magazine for my birthday. While very thoughtful, I already have a subscription that’s good for a couple more years. As a result, Car and Driver sends me three copies of its magazine each month when I only need one. I mitigate the wasted paper and shipping costs by giving the extra magazines to friends, but it makes me think about the waste of unnecessary duplication.

Many enterprises make extensive use of data from popular SaaS applications to fuel their data-driven digital transformations. If not implemented in an efficient way, sharing information between applications can result in additional costs and complexity. Usually, for every new system that needs data, a separate point-to-point data synchronization is created.

Synchronizing the same data with 2 or 3 different systems doesn’t make a big impact, but when you get to 5, 10, 20 or more systems requesting the same data then you really start to feel the pain. These point-to-point synchronizations start to add up, making the environment complex and increasingly costly. Integration cycle times, API limitations, throttling, and charges, along with network traffic and system loads can become a growing burden.

A publish/subscribe data hub for integration is a significantly more efficient approach to taming this complexity and cost. Publish data to the hub once, and all the applications that need data can subscribe and get the same data in parallel. This replaces a proliferation of costly redundant point-to-point integrations with a more efficient architecture. As all systems get exactly the most current data available at the same time, with exactly the same processing, the result is superior consistency of data across systems.

Informatica Cloud Integration Hub also adds self-service, visibility, and control to the rich connectivity and enterprise-grade performance of Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services. This is Informatica’s modern solution for hybrid data integration. This boosts productivity and collaboration while saving cloud costs. Self-service access to certified data topics from the hub means you can get trustworthy data in the hands of the business faster.

For companies that want to use the Cloud Integration Hub to distribute Salesforce data, Informatica has developed a Cloud Integration Hub Salesforce Accelerator. This Accelerator provides prebuilt components to help organizations get up and running quickly with efficient multipoint data synchronization. Reduce API calls and point-to-point integrations with an efficient data hub for sharing Salesforce data.
