Cloudforce London is about half way over with the lunch rush subsiding as hungry conference goers start eagerly filling the seats for the breakout sessions. Jon and I grabbed some lunch under the London Eye before heading back into the expo floor.

I have had some great conversations with partners such as Deloitte and Accenture, both of whom have large teams of certified force.com developers. One thing which was apparent in many of the discussions I have had is that developers and partners alike are committed to cloud computing.

I guess this simple statement sounds, well simple, but it is also a very powerful one. If large qlobal firms like Deloitte and Accenture are committing a large team of developers to the cloud, this also means customers are demanding apps built on Force.com. As a result, the cloud ecosystem is going to grow quicker than ever before.

In one respect i still see the practice of software development in the cloud as a true programming discipline having a long way to go—and that is a good thing! Going forward I suspect we will see a stronger focus on OO design and patterns on the platform as well as more mature methodologies, some perhaps leveraging CA’s agile application. This maturation of the practice will bring with it more strong platform architects, who in return will push what they need and expert from Force.com. This symbiotic relationship pushes everyone involved to grow rapidly.

And that can only be a good thing for everyone involved..
