jQuery has rapidly evolved into one of the most common tools in a web developer’s toolkit and can be an extremely powerful tool for customizing your Force.com, Site.com, and Heroku implementations. At previous Dreamforces, I’ve presented with Jason Venable on how to get started using it with Visualforce. This year, Jason will be co-presenting with Dan Belwood and Michael Topalovich in a JavaScript frameworks session. You can be sure you’ll also see jQuery come up in other sessions related to building on Heroku, with Visualforce, and creating mobile applications. I’ll be showcasing those sessions in the upcoming month as Dreamforce approaches.

Get Started with jQuery

We wanted to carve out some more space on Developer Force to support jQuery in general, and so we’ve added a new article, Developing Apps with jQuery. It’s effectively a primer on jQuery (and related projects like jQuery UI) and using it with Visualforce. This new resource also links out to several popular plugins for performing tasks like creating a datagrid (which you can expect more material on later, as it is apparently a top search request).
