Dreamforce kicked off the main event of the week, Marc Benioff’s keynote, on Tuesday.  Here’s a quick review of the highlights from the DevZone.

Welcome to Salesforce1

While announced and released at the beginning of Dreamforce, Salesforce1 was up close and personal for the the conference’s big day.  The next generation application for social enterprise applications allows business administrators and Salesforce Platform developers deliver mobile solutions quickly and easily.  The DevZone was full of sessions highlighting how to build and use applications using the new technology – everything ranging from how to control user micromoments by adding quick actions to the application declaratively to bringing in third party applications into the Salesforce1 application via our Canvas technology.

The Hackathon Rolls On

The $1 million Hackathon kept going at full steam in the DevZone as teams continued to develop their mobile applications in competition for the big prize.  It’s clear that a wide variety of applications are being designed in the ramp up to the Wednesday deadline.  Nobody can tell what the five finalist applications will look like when they get up on stage on Thursday, but the results are beginning to look like the final judging should not be missed.
