We got an amazing response after we launched the $1,000,000 Hackathon at Dreamforce.  But we decided we should make it even bigger. Bigger than big.  So we decided to change the Hacker Pass to be free for developers entering the Hackathon.  You got it, a million dollars up for grabs.  We’re seeing the community respond with Heroku, Force.com and ExactTarget questions.  We see them checking out GoInstant and our Mobile SDK.  Some amazing apps are coming.

So why did we do it?  Because a hackathon is about learning too.  So we want as many people as possible to have a chance to check out the DevZone and learn how to make mobile apps.  Anyone with HTML, JavaScript, REST API skills can make mobile apps with Salesforce.  You don’t have to be a jedi master, but you probably need a great team, a great idea, and a great platform to get your app up.

We’re putting 99 bucks back in your pocket.  Buy some snacks and bring a sleeping bag. For a limited time, it’s free.  Hack on!
