Wow! The results are in!  We got to see some great final app demos on the big stage. The Salesforce $1 Million Hackathon has drawn to a close, and it was a blast. Check out this highlight reel. Our goal was for this to be a fair, transparent, and FUN hackathon!

What a week!

We partnered with BeMyApp, a specialist hackathon vendor, to administer a contest that welcomed more than 800 developers, designers and entrepreneurs creating new apps Friday, Oct. 10 – Sunday, Oct. 12. The rules were intended to ensure a great hack (read the full rules here.)  We wanted to see what could be done in less than 48 hours with the Salesforce1 Platform.

We announced the top 10 teams in each of 3 categories the evening of Sunday, Oct. 12. On Tuesday, Oct. 14, in the Developer Zone at Dreamforce, we had live demos on stage for our judging panel and revealed prizes for 5th, 4th and 3rd place that evening. It was a ton of fun to see the winners on stage celebrating their achievements in front of a great crowd. Watch their demos and the awards presentations.  Browse through photos of the event.

$1M Hackathon

And the winner is …

Our grand prize winner was a great app from team OmniKeyboard! Their app worked with custom keyboards, a new iOS8 feature, and it used both Force.com and Heroku. Really neat stuff that wowed the judges and our audience. We had a big crowd for the awards ceremony and I just about lost my voice. Watch the final awards ceremony.

Thank you!

Thanks for everyone who joined us for this great event, and for everyone who watched the cool apps that could be built in around 40 hours on the Salesforce1 Platform. Our focus is on helping developers make and iterate on apps faster. This hackathon is a great testament to the speed developers can move with Salesforce.
