A little while ago we wrote an article titled “Asynchronous Processing in Force.com” that describes the underlying concepts of asynchronous processing in Force.com, and also best practices that you can follow to build effective design patterns around asynchronous processing.
We’ve made some minor updates and corrections to this article. We’re also planning on incorporating some of the best practice information specific to Apex and the Bulk API in the Apex and Bulk API Developer’s Guides.
