Trailhead has been a great tool for Salesforce Administrators and Developers to grow their skill set. Adding to this journey, I am excited to announce the release of a brand new trail for Salesforce Mobile SDK.
The Salesforce Mobile SDK trail includes 5 different modules and covers topics ranging from native iOS/Android development, to hybrid and offline apps. If you are a developer and love building apps, this trail is a great way to gain experience on mobile application development. We are also including a set of challenges, which will help you test your knowledge.
The Mobile SDK trail currently includes the following modules:
Mobile Basics module provides a basic overview of mobile application development on Salesforce1 Platform. It also explains the various technology options and the related pros & cons.
HTML5 & Hybrid module will help you learn the skills of hybrid app development. Use your HTML5 development skills with Mobile SDK to build great mobile experiences.
Native iOS module explains the capabilities of our iOS SDK. In this module, you will learn to build a native iOS application that connects with data from Salesforce Platform.
Native Android module explains the capabilities of our Android SDK. Similar to the iOS SDK, you will be learn how to build native Android applications and retrieve data from Salesforce.
Offline Management module contains the detailed information on how to build an offline ready application. In this module, you will learn about the SmartStore and SmartSync features of Mobile SDK that simplifies storing and managing offline data.
Whether you are a newbie in mobile development or an expert who wants to learn about advanced topics, these modules will be great for you. We will continue to keep them up-to-date and add a lot more new trails in near future.
