The keynote has just finished in San Jose at Cloudforce 2010 and there was a great buzz in the room attended by thousands on-site and on-line. Marc Benioff and special guests covered a number of topics and announcements, but what messages should a developer take away from the keynote?

Chatter is now available to all customers and you can learn more about Chatter and how to get started here. All applications provided by salesforce.com – Sales Cloud 2 and Service Cloud 2 – are Chatter-enabled, as well as any application built on Force.com. Great demos by BMC, CA, ServiceMax and DocuSign illustrated how Chatter can be used to bring collaboration to Force.com applications by enabling updates on people, groups, documents, and their application data to be presented in real-time feeds.

To learn how to develop using Chatter, take a look at the Chatter Workbook and the Chatter Cheat Sheet. Download the workbook and start building your own social Force.com applications. If you're at the event stop by the Force.com Developer Lab and talk to Force.com experts or even start building applications straight away using the machines provided!
