Next week I celebrate three years with Salesforce. It’s been a lot of fun. I’ve travelled the world, met lots of nice people and seen hundreds of great apps.  I’ve taught developers how to succeed on the AppExchange and even let you control my model trains.

But there’s one thing I have never been able to do — until today.

You might remember the awesome Force.com Labs Mug. It’s a classic, and I still see it in use around the office, three years later.  In fact, rumor has it that our very own Dana Le uses hers every single day.

But it was for employees only.

You might remember the Labs shirt. Also a classic. Also employees only.

In fact, I have never been able to give away a Labs themed premium to a non-employee before. But today — today my friend — that all changes.

That’s right. You can win the most unique Labs premium ever. You will be the ONLY non-employee to sport it. And it’s made of such high quality materials, it will last you a lifetime.

Introducing the Salesforce Labs backpack, customized, and specially embroidered by legendary outfitter Tom Bihn. Made at his factory in Seattle.

I have taken mine to Puerto Rico, San Francisco, New York, London, Rio de Janeiro and even the wild ski country of northern Michigan (try not to be jealous, you Lake Tahoe aficionados). It is the best backpack I have ever used in my entire life.  It includes a fantastic laptop section that protects the goods and sports an impressive lack of decorative zippers.  It is no nonsense, practical and cavernous.

And one can be yours — if you earn it.

Here’s how it works.

Between now and 11:59p Pacific time on February 28, 2013, all you have to do is help other users of Labs apps solve their problems. You can do this in reviews on the AppExchange, the Developer Boards, Salesforce Answers or any other place you might find one — even on an external blog or on the Salesforce Stack Exchange.

Spot a Labs related question, solve the problem and then — and this is important — Twitter a link to your solution to @ForceDotComLabs. Whoever solves the most problems AND tells me about it by Twittering a link to @ForceDotComLabs before the deadline will win the backpack.

To make things interesting: any answer posted before 11:59p PT Monday February 18th is worth double.

Note, that I must be able to validate the answers, must agree that you solved the questioner’s problem and must be able to clearly and easily match usernames on the different forums. If you don’t have a Twitter account, you’ll need to sign up in order in order to participate.  Any unsolved problem is fair game.  This is all in good fun, so in the event of some kind of disagreement or a tie, I will resolve it in the most amusing way I can think of.

Help out your fellow fans of Labs and get a sweet backpack.  Winner announced on Friday, March 1, 2013.
