If it’s almost September, it’s almost time for this year’s joint meeting of the Los Angeles Chapter of ACM and the Association of Information Technology Professionals — where there’s a very long-standing tradition (some might call it a bad habit) of having me do an annual before-dinner round-table and after-dinner speech on what the heck is happening in the bizarre world of IT.

This is sometimes a wrap-up of the past year’s events, other times a speculative look ahead at key trends and capabilities — but the one thing I definitely don’t promise is any accurate prediction of what we’ll wind up discussing. It’s always an interactive session, and this year (on Wednesday, Sept. 10) it’s in a nice place to have dinner as well.

Reservations are required: please refer to either of the sponsor organizations’ Web sites, linked above, for details. I hope to see you there.
