For your reading pleasure, we’ve updated the developer documentation on developer.salesforce.com and database.com. It reflects the new Spring ’12 Salesforce release (API version 24.0). In addition, there are some new docs you might want to check out.

  • The Live Agent Developer’s Guide is now available. This guide describes how to customize Live Agent according to your company’s needs.
  • The Cloud Flow Designer Workbook is now available. This workbook gives you a quick introduction to designing flows. You’ll become familiar with some of the basic elements of the Cloud Flow Designer, including creating and looking up records, configuring decisions and outcomes, and using Apex as a plug-in to enhance functionality.
  • The REST API Developer Cheatsheet is now available. This cheatsheet provides concise reference information on the REST API in a compact, printable form.
  • For Database.com, the Database.com Metadata API Developer’s Guide is now available. This guide is a reference for the Metadata API, a way of retrieving and deploying setup information in your organization.

Also, an older document has been retired — the Apex REST Developer Guide. Since Winter ’12 (API version 23.0), information about Apex REST has been added to the Apex Code Developer’s Guide under the “Exposing Apex Classes as REST Web Services” section.

Let us know what you think! Also, remember that earlier versions of the documentation are always available at http://wiki.developerforce.com/page/Earlier_Reference_Documentation (and at http://devcenter.database.com/page/Earlier_Reference_Documentation for Database.com).
