Join Salesforce Developers in the Trailblazer Community.

In December 2023, we moved the discussion forums formerly located on the Salesforce Developers website to the Trailblazer Community. But not all discussions moved over (see the FAQs below), so if you can't find what you're looking for, then feel free to start a new discussion! The community will appreciate your contributions.

Migration FAQs

Which discussion forums have moved?

We moved the discussion forums located on the Salesforce Developers website: developer.salesforce.com/forums.

Where did the discussion forums move to?

Specific topics and related discussions moved to the Trailblazer Community. See the Migration Support Hub for a mapping of where they will live in the community.

Why did the discussion forums move?

This migration is part of our ongoing commitment to developers to innovate and improve the overall experience of developing on Salesforce and connecting with other developers. To bring the community together, we retired the old discussion forums platform and are now hosting all developer discussions in the Trailblazer Community. The Trailblazer Community is a personalized, intelligent platform with dedicated user support available, and it will continue to evolve for years to come.

When did this change take effect?

The migration of the discussion forums content completed on December 4, 2023 at which time the old forums platform was sunset. The discussion forums URL (developer.salesforce.com/forums) now redirects users to the Trailblazer Community feed in the Trailblazer Community.

When was the last day I could post in the discussion forums?

As part of our preparation for the migration, the last day you could post in the forums was November 19, 2023, 11:59 p.m. PT. After that time, users were no longer able to post new questions or responses, nor like or follow discussions.

Did all discussions migrate over?

With this migration, we took the opportunity to create a clean and concise experience for you, so we removed discussions that were outdated, inaccurate, duplicative, or spam. We also did not migrate any unanswered questions. Discussions with relevant and accurate information were moved to the Trailblazer Community. To see which topics (and their post/comment history) were migrated over, check out our migration map pinned in the Migration Support Hub.

Did any developer discussions remain on the Salesforce Developers website?

No. On December 4, 2023, the old developer discussion forums platform was removed from the Salesforce Developers website.

What happened to the discussions that I contributed to if I didn’t create an account in the Trailhead Community prior to the migration?

If your content was scheduled to migrate per our migration criteria, but you as the author did not have a Trailblazer account at the time of migration, then your content was attributed to an anonymous user profile “Developer Forums User (Inactive).”

I have an existing Trailblazer account, but it’s using a different email address from my forums account. What happened to my discussions if I did not link my forums email to my existing Trailblazer account prior to the migration?

If your content was scheduled to migrate per our migration criteria, but you as the author did not connect your forums email address to your existing Trailblazer account, then your content was attributed to an anonymous user profile “Developer Forums User (Inactive).”

Did my user reputation labels in the Salesforce Developer Forums go with me to the Trailblazer Community?

No, there are no corresponding labels in the Trailblazer Community, so you will not retain any reputation labels (e.g., Newbie, Smartie, Pro, All Star) that you earned in the Salesforce Developer Forums. The Trailblazer Community has a different ranking system for question and answers. As you answer questions in the Trailblazer Community, you will build your reputation, and you’ll be able to see your answer rank and stats on your Trailblazer profile. See the Trailblazer Community’s Answers Leaderboard. You can also select Community Tags to add some additional personal information to your Trailblazer Profile.

What happens if someone clicks on an old link (to a topic, discussion, or post) after the migration?

After the migration, the main URL to the discussion forums on the Salesforce Developers website redirects users to the main Trailblazer Community feed. The URLs to any topics and related discussions that migrated over will now redirect to their new location in the Trailblazer Community, enabling you to jump straight to a previous conversation. URLs to topics and discussions that did not migrate over redirct to this page. In those cases, we recommend that you visit the Migration Support Hub for more information.

How do I know whether or not this move impacts me?

If you have participated in forum discussions on the Salesforce Developers website, then you may be one of 1.4 million users impacted by the migration. As of December 4, 2023, the discussion platform was sunset and you will no longer be able to access your discussions, your account, or your profile. See the Migration Support Hub for more information.

How can I access the migrated content in the Trailblazer Community?

You can view all public topics and discussions in the Trailblazer Community without an account. But you need to log in to actively participate, such as post comments, share or like, and start new topics/discussions.

If you already have a Trailblazer account, you are all set! Log in to the Trailblazer Community to join discussions. If you have never visited the Trailblazer Community, sign up for a Trailblazer Account now by clicking the blue “Sign Up” button in the top right corner of the page.
