Prepare Your Google Drive Connection (Beta)

Before you connect Google Drive to Data Cloud, gather the required information and perform these preliminary actions in Google Drive and Salesforce.

  1. Make sure you complete these steps using a Google account that has access to the files and folders you want to connect to Salesforce.
  2. Identify the info listed next based on whether you want to ingest structured or unstructured data in Salesforce.
    1. To ingest structured data, find the Google Drive folder containing the relevant files. Identify the ID at the end of the folder’s URL. Example: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/{id}.
    2. To ingest unstructured data, identify the shared drive or folder in Google Drive that contains the relevant files.
  1. In the Google Cloud Console, turn on the Google Drive API.
  2. In the Google Cloud Console, create an OAuth 2.0 client ID and client secret for a web application. Alternatively, in Salesforce Setup, you can create the OAuth-based authentication for Google. Salesforce recommends using the Google Cloud Console to create OAuth credentials.
  3. In Salesforce, create external credentials for your Google Drive connection.
