User Permissions Needed
To create a connection:System Administrator

Before you begin:

  • Verify your admin has enabled firewalls on the system you want Data Cloud to connect to by including these IP addresses to your allowlists.
  1. In Data Cloud, click Setup, and select Data Cloud Setup.

  2. Under External Integrations, select Other Connectors.

  3. Click New.

  4. On the Source tab, select Apache Cassandra and click Next.

  5. Enter a connection name and connection API name.

  6. For Authentication Details, enter the username and password to authenticate the user.

    1. Optionally, specify a Default LDAP user and LDAP password.

New setup defaults are username: admin and password: secret.

    2. Optionally, for the SSL Server Certificate, enter the whole SSL certificate string, an SHA-1 certificate string, or upload the string as a .pem file.

  7. For Connection Details, provide these inputs.

    1. For URL, provide in one of these formats.

An IP address format like 62.248.93.34 or a cloud Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) for your Virtual Machine, for example, 62.248.93.34.bc.googleusercontent.com.

    2. Enter a database value.

    3. For port, enter the port that the server is running on. The default is 9042, but it can be changed.

  8. To review your configuration, click Test Connection.

  9. Click Save.

After the connector details are accepted, the connection is created and listed under Connectors. You can now create data streams.
