Set Up a Box Connection (Beta)

Set up the Box connection to start the flow of data into Data Cloud.

This feature is a Beta Service. A customer may opt to try a Beta Service in its sole discretion. Any use of the Beta Service is subject to the applicable Beta Services Terms provided at Agreements and Terms. User Permissions Needed 
To create a connection:System Admin profile or Data Cloud Architect permission set

It’s your obligation to make sure that you have the rights to the data collected using this feature. Salesforce disclaims all liability with respect to such data collected.

Before you begin:

  • Verify you have the necessary Box account credentials.
  1. In Data Cloud, click Setup, and select Data Cloud Setup.
  2. Under External Integrations, select Other Connectors.
  3. Click New.
  4. On the Source tab, select Box and click Next.
  5. Enter a Connection Name and an API Name for the connector (both are required).
  6. In the Authentication section, enter the information you collected from Prepare Your Box Connection.
    • Enter the User ID.
    • Enter the Client ID.
    • Enter the Client Secret.
  7. Select Test Connection.
    • The system verifies if the provided authentication values allow a successful connection to Box.
    • Follow the instructions on the screen if the connection fails.
  8. After the connection test passes successfully, select Save.
