Set Up a MySQL Connection (Beta)

Set up the MySQL connection to start the flow of data into Data Cloud.

This feature is a Beta Service. A customer may opt to try a Beta Service in its sole discretion. User Permissions Needed 
To create a connection:System Administrator

Before you begin:

  • Enable the Beta connector through the feature manager. See Enable Data Cloud Features.
  • Verify your admin has enabled firewalls on the system you want Data Cloud to connect to by including these IP addresses to your allowlists.
  1. In Data Cloud, click Setup, and select Data Cloud Setup.

  2. Under Configuration, select Connectors.

  3. Click New.

  4. On the Source tab, select AWS RDS MySQL, AWS Aurora MySQL, or Azure MySQL and click Next.

  5. Enter a connection name, connection API name, and provide the authentication and connection details.

  6. For Username, enter the username configured to access your database.

  7. For Password, enter the password to authenticate the user.

  8. Enter a Connection URL, provide the hostname and port.

    1. For AWS RDS MySQL, provide the URL in this format: {section1}.{section2}.{section3}.rds.amazonaws.com:{port}. In section 1, use 1-63 lower case letters, numbers or - In section 2, use 1-20 letters, numbers, _ , or - In section 3, use 1-100 letters, numbers, _ , or - For the port, use 4-5 numbers.
    2. For Azure MySQL, provide the URL in this format: {subdomain}.mysql.database.azure.com:{port}. In the subdomain, use 3-63 characters that are lowercase, numbers, or dashes.
    3. For the Port, enter 4-5 numbers.
  9. Enter a Database, enter the MySQL database that the user’s credentials are authorized to authenticate to.

  10. To review your configuration, click Test Connection.

  11. Click Save.

After the connector details are accepted, the connection is created and listed under Connectors. You can now create data streams.
