Set Up a Workday Connection

Set up the Workday connection to start the flow of data into Data Cloud.

User Permissions Needed 
To create a connection:System Admin profile or Data Cloud Architect permission set

Before you begin:

  • Review IP addresses to make sure the Workday connection has the necessary access.
  1. In Data Cloud, click Setup, and select Data Cloud Setup.

  2. Under External Integrations, select Other Connectors.

  3. Click New.

  4. On the Source tab, select Workday and click Next.

  5. Enter a connection name and connection API name, and provide the authentication and connection details.

  6. For Authentication Details, enter a username and password to authenticate the user.

  7. For Connection Details, provide these inputs.

    1. Enter a URL.

      The URL can be obtained in your Workday account under View API Clients. Locate the Workday REST API Endpoint, which will resemble https://wd3-impl-services1.workday.com/ccx/service/mycompany_gms1/Human_Resources. In this example, the URL is https://wd3-impl-services1.workday.com.

    2. Enter a tenant value.

      The tenant can be derived from the Rest API Endpoint found in the previous step. Using that example, the tenant is mycompany_gms1.

    3. Optionally, add a value for service, WSDL version, and WSDL URL.

  8. To review your configuration, click Test Connection.

  9. Click Save.

After the connector details are accepted, the connection is created and listed under Connectors. You can now create data streams.
