Digital Commerce Gateway (DCG) Overview

The Digital Commerce Gateway provides communications and media companies additional scalability for peak traffic events, such as mobile device roll-out or pay-per-view specials.

The documentation in this section applies only to customers who have purchased the Digital Commerce Gateway license. The instructions provided don't work without the Digital Commerce Gateway license.

The Digital Commerce Gateway uses the Amazon API Gateway to provide additional scalability and a reduction in response times. Cacheable API calls are responded to from the API Gateway itself, reducing traffic to Salesforce, enabling peak traffic management, and providing consistent and fast API response times.

API cache misses are routed by the Digital Commerce Gateway to the Salesforce platform for execution, and responses, if cacheable, are cached on the on-platform API Caching layer and the Digital Commerce Gateway.  The Digital Commerce Gateway is hosted on the AWS cloud platform.
