# Handlebars Helper Function: guid

Generates a 128-bit hexadecimal globally unique identifier (GUID).

## Availability

This helper is available in the Winter ’27 release of Marketing Cloud Next.

## Syntax

```handlebars
{{guid}}
```

## Parameters

This helper doesn't accept any parameters. If you pass parameters, they're ignored.

## Return Value

The function returns a GUID, such as `c4642f98-8d01-44da-b075-8e6c6a4c17c2`.

## Usage Example

This example generates a GUID.

{{guid}}
