Test and Validate Basic Push Implementation

Test and validate your mobile app messaging configuration in Marketing Cloud Next.

Before you test your sending services, complete these steps.

  • Implement the SDK in your app.
  • Load the app on the device you want to test.
  • Open the app on the device and wait for the registration process to complete.

To confirm that your app successfully registered a device with Marketing Cloud Next, use the Data Explorer in Data Cloud to find the device.

  1. In Data Cloud, on the Data Explorer tab, search for new individual records.

    1. For Data Space, select your data space.
    2. For Object, select Data Model Object.
    3. In the Select an Object field, select Individual.

  2. In the list of records, find the device you registered.

    The Data Source Object column for device registration records has a value of MobileDeviceAppRegistration.

  3. Copy the value in the Individual Id column.

After you obtain the individual ID, use it to the configuration of the sending services you've configured for your app.

  1. In Setup, go to Unified Messaging > Mobile App > Your Apps.

  2. From the list of apps, select the app to test.

  3. On the Test tab, for Identifier Type, select Individual ID.

  4. For Individual ID, enter the individual ID you copied from the Data Explorer.

  5. Click Test Your Sending Services.

    The test process begins. Wait a few minutes for it to complete.

  6. Review the test results in the Results section.
