Creating a Connected App

To enable your mobile app to connect to the Salesforce service, you need to create an external client app or connected app. The external client app or connected app includes a consumer key, a prerequisite to all development scenarios in this guide.

Connected apps creation is restricted as of Spring ‘26. You can continue to use existing connected apps during and after Spring ‘26. However, we recommend using external client apps instead.
