Sorry for this issue you are encountering.
Mac users can't use Salesforce for Outlook as it is only supported for Windows users.
However, you have the option of using Lightning for Outlook. This is available for both Windows as well as Mac users.

You can sync salesforce contacts, events and Task with the outlook if you are using windows.
In Mac, You can not install SFO(Salesforce for Outlook app).
Steps to Integrate Outlook with Salesforce:
1. Setup--> Outlook Configuration
Create Outlook Configuration to Sync Contacts, Events and Tasks Records with the Outlook.
2. Assign Required Users and Profiles.
3. Setup-->Outlook Integration and Sync --> Enable Outlook integration and Lightning Sync
4. Under User Name-->My Setings-->Type Outlook in Quick Find
5. View Configuration details and watch the video for Salesforce for Outlook integration.
6. Download SFO and Sync with Outlook account. Then you can able to see all the salesforce contacts, Events, and Tasks in outlook.
