How to redirect to salesforce home page?

I want to authenticate the user from my application and want to redirect to the home page of salesforce. com if he is valid user.
I want to know How to do this?

I need to be able to do this too, in c#.  I can authenticate and create objects and whatever else I need fine, but I cant get them logged in in my application, then redirect them to view an object they just created in salesforce without having them have to log in again.  :(
