Hide a field from Page layouts

Hi,

 

we want one field completly hidden from all profiles.

 

Do I need to remove this field from page layout or is that ok if i hide this field at field level security?

 

Any recommendations?

make it hidden by editing the FLS.
between, whats the purpose of that field if it is completely hidden to all the profiles? (you may want to keep it visible to Admin if needed)

Hi Nehaa,

 

You can remove it from All Page Layouts if you will not be using the field. But if the field is used by certain users you can go for Field Level security where in you can just provide access to cretian profiles which the users are assigned to.

we will no longer use this field info including admin. This field is showing wrong data.

In this case, you can just remove the field from ALL page layouts.

then delete that field or make it hidden for all profile that way you dont have to edit all the page layouts
