Increase Character Limit on a field in Managed Package

Hi,

 

I've created a managed package with an object that has a custom text field with a limit of 20 characters. It turns out it's not enough. Is there anyway short of creating a new field that I can change this in the next release?

That is a locked attribute, see here. Releasing a new field is your best option today. You should post this to the IdeaExchange.

I have similar problem with currency field decimals, used the default 0 decimal. Now not able to change and its all over the package.
