Pagination premature, why is it even released?

Anyone dare to show me how to hide the "Previous" button on page 0 of a repeater and how to hide "Next" on the last page?  Also, how would I list an numeric index corresponding to the number of pages available to "jump" to?

 

This is just horrible.
