Is it possible to push data from external application to Saleforce and display in its dashboard ?

I am looking for an integration of the data from our sales contact application to sales forces and the communication history should be available in saleforce dash board. 

May i know the technical feasilbility of this?

use SOAP API OR REST API in salesforce

1. do integration with the help of SOAP OR REST API 
2. Or extract data files from your system in csv file and you can used DATA LOADER OR IMPORT EXPORT WIZARD in salesforce.
