trigger action on a keyword

i have an engineer who wants to know if he can be notified whenever a particular word appears in our salesforce db
seems like it should be possible
any thoughts on how i could make this happen
for instance, the word microsystems is flagged and any time it appears in a support case, product usage etc, he gets notified
You can use Workflow for that purpose.  You can't scan every single field in every single object, but if there's some common fields (like Subject and Description on Case) then you can set a workflow email message where the Subject or Description contains these certain words.

seems like he's happy to figure out the most likely fields and we'll do workflows when they change and include a word he is interested in
