The Platform also enables you to expose custom REST APIs that simplify mobile client development by aggregating and encapsulating complex, transactional logic within the cloud. This in turn, allows for more efficient and robust communication between mobile devices and your database.

The Force.com Platform also provides a powerful and intuitive data persistence layer. The database provides both a mechanism for creating persistent objects, and the ability to automatically generate a user interface around these objects. You can create, configure and deploy persistent objects using the web-based declarative interface or access them directly.
