Use DX MCP Tools for LWC (Beta)
Salesforce Developer Experience (DX) Model Context Protocol (MCP) tools for LWC provide a powerful set of capabilities for component and app development, enabling advanced code intelligence, context-aware suggestions, and seamless integration with Salesforce metadata. MCP tools help streamline the development workflow, improve productivity, and ensure your code follows best practices.
MCP Tools for LWC is a pilot or beta service that is subject to the Beta Services Terms at Agreements - Salesforce.com or a written Unified Pilot Agreement if executed by Customer, and applicable terms in the Product Terms Directory. Use of this pilot or beta service is at the Customer's sole discretion.
We recommend that you use the MCP tools through Agentforce Vibes Extension. Agentforce Vibes is pre-configured with the Salesforce DX MCP Server (Beta). This setup offers the most integrated and robust experience, including real-time code analysis, context-driven completions, and direct access to Salesforce data models.
For developers using other clients, such as Cursor or VS Code with Copilot, install the Salesforce DX MCP Server (Beta) to enable the LWC MCP tools.
When configuring the DX MCP server and the Agentforce Vibes extension, pass in the aura-experts and lwc-experts toolset names to the --toolsets flag.
When working with these tools using Agentforce Vibes Extension, you must enable the a4d-general-rules-no-edit.md and a4d-lwc-rules-no-edit.md global rules. The a4d-general-rules-no-edit.md rule is enabled by default. For more information on configuring rules in Agentforce Vibes, see Agentforce Rules in the Agentforce Vibes Extension Developer Guide.
The lwc-experts toolset provides tools to assist with LWC development, testing, optimization, and best practices.
- LWC Development Tools
- LWC Testing Tools
- Lightning Data Service (LDS) Tools
- Design Conversion Tools
- Migration Verification Tools
- LWC Security Tools
The aura-experts toolset provides tools for Aura component analysis, blueprinting, and Aura-to-LWC migration expertise.
For other available toolsets, see Salesforce DX MCP Server.
MCP Tools for LWC uses generative AI, which can produce inaccurate or harmful responses. The output generated by AI is often nondeterministic. Before using the generated output, review it for accuracy and safety. You assume responsibility for how the outcomes are applied to your organization.
The LWC and Aura toolsets analyze your Aura components to understand:
- Component structure and hierarchy
- Event handling patterns
- Data binding approaches
- Custom interfaces and dependencies
- Third-party integrations
Using these MCP tools, you can get a detailed migration plan including:
- Dependency analysis and order of conversion
- Risk assessment for complex components
- Time estimates for each component
- Compatibility considerations
With the orchestrated migration tool, you can generate modern LWC equivalents from existing Aura sources. Migrated components include:
- Standard LWC component class structure
- Template conversion with proper binding
- CSS with LWC-specific optimizations
- Jest test suites for the new components
