Salesforce Developer Experience (DX) Model Context Protocol (MCP) tools for LWC provide a powerful set of capabilities for component and app development, enabling advanced code intelligence, context-aware suggestions, and seamless integration with Salesforce metadata. MCP tools help streamline the development workflow, improve productivity, and ensure your code follows best practices.
MCP Tools for LWC is a pilot or beta service that is subject to the Beta Services Terms at Agreements - Salesforce.com or a written Unified Pilot Agreement if executed by Customer, and applicable terms in the Product Terms Directory. Use of this pilot or beta service is at the Customer’s sole discretion.
Note
We recommend that you use the MCP tools through Agentforce Vibes Extension. Agentforce Vibes is pre-configured with the Salesforce DX MCP Server (Beta). This setup offers the most integrated and robust experience, including real-time code analysis, context-driven completions, and direct access to Salesforce data models.
For developers using other clients, such as Cursor or VS Code with Copilot, install the Salesforce DX MCP Server (Beta) to enable the LWC MCP tools.
Enable the Toolsets
When configuring the DX MCP server and the Agentforce Vibes extension, several MCP tools are enabled by default. To enable all the tools in these toolsets, pass in the toolset names (aura-experts, lwc-experts, and experts-validation) using the --toolsets flag. As some tools can call other tools in the toolset, enabling all toolsets is recommended if you expect to use these tools for LWC development.
Some tools are marked NON-GA and are not yet generally available. To use these tools, specify the --allow-non-ga-tools flag in your DX MCP Server configuration.
When working with these tools using Agentforce Vibes Extension, you must enable the a4d-general-rules-no-edit.md and a4d-lwc-rules-no-edit.md global rules. The a4d-general-rules-no-edit.md rule is enabled by default. For more information on configuring rules in Agentforce Vibes, see Agentforce Rules in the Agentforce Vibes Extension Developer Guide.
Important
LWC Toolset
The lwc-experts toolset provides tools to assist with LWC development, testing, optimization, and best practices.
The experts-validation toolset provides tools for validating and scoring LWC components for production readiness across accessibility, security, and other best practices.
