I-love-new-york-logo-4 Hi Everyone. Dave Carroll, Nick Tran, and I are very much looking forward to the NYC Force.com Developer Users Group meeting on April 28, at which I’ll be presenting “Painless Web App Development and Deployment – Ruby on Rails and Heroku.” Here’s the what, where, and when.

What?

Want to learn why Ruby on Rails (RoR) is the hottest open source web application development framework? Well, the Ruby on Rails’s website slogan might say it best—”Web development that doesn’t hurt.” And when you combine RoR with an awesome deployment platform like Heroku, it becomes an even more compelling solution. Come to this meeting for a gentle introduction to RoR and Heroku. I’ll show you first hand what it’s like to build data-centric apps using RoR and how easy it is to deploy them on top of Heroku’s cloud platform, which is now part of the Salesforce.com cloud lineup.

Where?

The location for the meeting is the Silverline CRM offices at 648 Broadway, Suite 200, cross streets are Bleecker and Broadway, next to Wendy’s. Closest subways are 6 at Bleecker, BDFM at Broadway-Lafayette, or R at Prince Street.

When?

The meeting starts at 6:30 with food and beverages provided and time to meet us, along with other developers, architects and Force.com superstars; the presentation will being at 7:30 following by a Q&A. After the meeting, we’ll head over to West 3rd Common to enjoy some beers and keep the conversation going.

Space is limited, please submit your RSVP promptly and if you can’t make it, cancel your RSVP so others can attend.
