Summer ’21 has arrived!

For those of you that’ve followed the video, podcast, and blog post about it, you’ll be thrilled to hear that Apex transaction finalizers are officially arriving as a GA feature in your org this release. This feature adds a much needed end-of-async-job processing feature to your Queueable Apex. Imagine being able to gracefully record what went wrong in a failed transaction, or even better: sending Parker Harris a confetti text message every time your mass lead conversion process successfully completes.

Take a look through the release notes and you’ll undoubtedly find new features that’ll get you thinking. One that jumped out at me was among the new and changed Lightning Web Components. There’s a new component called lightning-quick-action-panel. Stay tuned for an upcoming post on how to use that with the new Lightning Web Components Quick Actions.

You might have noticed a mention of the beta availability for Salesforce Functions. Salesforce Functions allow developers to build business logic beyond standard Apex limits. Stay tuned for more news on that.
