At Dreamforce 2014, we brought together 26 partners, over a hundred Salesforce staff, and THOUSANDS of developers for an Internet of Things zone that was bigger than many standalone IoT conferences. Attendees got hands on in 48 workshops run by our partners, checked out Arduinos and Raspberry Pis to make their own… ‘things’, and even shot hoops in the 2 Point Challenge, powered by 2lemetry:

Congratulations, by the way, to Brian from Peach New Media on winning one of the 94Fifty instrumented basketballs!

Our Salesforce staffers demonstrated key IoT concepts via fun demos, including 3D printing and a robot activated by closing an opportunity in the Sales Cloud:

Each of the sponsoring partners explained to attendees how their technology integrated with Salesforce. ARM showed a connected house demo that, while it used a model house, was hooked up to a set of very neat prototyping boards:

Over 500 developers got hands on with IoT technology in the partner workshops. Here’s Kris Moyse of ProximityInsight leading a workshop on integrating iBeacons with a mobile app:

While Reid and I were the focal points of the Internet of Things zone, it was truly a team effort. Many, many thanks to the attendees, staff and our awesome partners who made the zone a stunning success!
