Extending Salesforce1 with Visualforce Pages

You can use your knowledge of Visualforce to extend the Salesforce1 app and give your mobile users the functionality they need.

In this chapter, we’ll extend the Acme Wireless organization and give mobile technicians a way to find nearby warehouses. For example, if the technician is out on a call and needs a part, they can use this page to look for warehouses within a 20–mile radius.

While you could take an existing Visualforce page and surface it in Salesforce1, you should consider how that page will look and function on a mobile device. Most likely, you’ll want to create a new page designed especially for a mobile experience.
