Canvas Apps in the Feed

Keep these best practices and guidelines in mind when making your canvas apps available in the feed.
  • On a mobile device, the link text and description for a feed item display fewer characters than in the full Salesforce site. Keep this in mind when programmatically creating feed items.
  • When a canvas app is contained in a feed item, the feed item appears with a link to the canvas app. On a mobile device, the canvas app doesn’t appear in the feed; instead, a new page opens and displays the canvas app.
  • In Salesforce for mobile web, the screen changes if the device is rotated. Your canvas app should support rotation, if possible, to maintain a seamless user experience. Note that Salesforce for iOS and Salesforce for Android doesn’t rotate.
  • If your canvas app appears as a feed item, keep in mind that it will display in the feed on a mobile device so you’ll want to render a mobile-friendly user interface.
