  1. From Setup in Sales or Service Cloud, enter External Data Sources in the Quick Find box, then select External Data Sources.
  2. Select New External Data Source.
  3. Enter a value for External Data Source.
  4. Enter a name for the External Data Source.
  5. For type, select Salesforce Connect: Data Federation Service (DFS).
  6. Enter v3.0, which is the current DFS API version or another supported version.
  7. For Metadata Repository Key, contact Salesforce Customer Support to get that value and enter it here.
  8. For Mapping Version Name, enter the last mapping set name you activated in Customer 360 Data Manager.

While a data source name does not have to be unique when you create it, it must be unique to use it with the DFS API named credential. If you want to use these settings to automatically update the DFS named credential, make sure that this name is unique.
