Before You Start

Before you create the restriction rule, make sure you have the needed permissions and tools.

This feature is a Beta Service. Customer may opt to try such Beta Service in its sole discretion. Any use of the Beta Service is subject to the applicable Beta Services Terms provided at Agreements and Terms.

Note

To create restriction rules, you must have the Manage Sharing permission.

Creating restriction rules requires you to be comfortable using an API development application, such as Postman. You can use either the Tooling or Metadata API to create, retrieve, update, and delete restriction rules. In this Quick Start, we show you how to use both.
