Provide Scratch Org Snapshots User with a Supported License and Assign Permissions (Beta)

For non-admin users, assign a Salesforce or Salesforce Limited Access license, and then create a permission set to provide access to the Org Snapshot object. Dev Hub (production org) admins can create and manage snapshots by default.

During beta, Scratch Org Snapshots can’t be used with the Salesforce Platform license, and the View All permission doesn’t work with the Salesforce Limited Access license.

Important

  1. Log in to your Dev Hub org as the admin user.
  2. In Setup, create a permission set.
  3. From Object Settings, select Org Snapshots.
  4. Under Object Permissions, click Edit, then select Read, Create, and Delete.
  5. (Optional) Add these user permissions to the permission set.
    • Select View All to allow users to see snapshots that other users create (Salesforce license only).
    • Select Modify All to allow users to delete snapshots that other users create.
  6. Save your changes.
  7. Click Manage Assignments, then Add Assignments.
  8. Select the users, click Assign, then Done.
