Styles A-Z/C/Captions

Captions

Use captions only when they are needed for clarity. Captions aren’t necessary, if clear introductions precede graphics or tables.

  • Avoid using captions for tables.
  • Avoid using captions for graphics. Describe an image on a new line with clear introductory text.
  • Don’t use captions for inline graphics or simple icons.
  • Use title style capitalization.
