In the next set of tasks, we’ll create an object-specific action. But that’s only the first step. There are a few things we need to do after that to make sure the action shows up where it’s supposed to in both the Salesforce app and the full Salesforce site, and that it’s optimized for a mobile experience.
These are the steps you need to follow when setting up actions. We’ll go through
all of them.
- Create a global or object-specific action.
- Customize the action’s layout, choosing the fields users see when they use it.
- If you created an object-specific action, add it to one or more of that object’s page layouts. If you created a global action, add it to a global publisher layout.
- Set predefined field values for required fields, where possible.
