Build Mobile LWCs with Mobile Skills

Mobile Skills help you build and validate the Lightning web components (LWCs) that run in Salesforce mobile apps. Describe what you want in natural language, and the skills integrate native device features into your components and check the components for offline compatibility. The skills draw on the current APIs and reviewer rules for you.

The mobile-apps-create skills scaffold complete native iOS and Android apps with the Salesforce Mobile SDK. The LWC Mobile Skills focus on a different surface: the Lightning web components that you build for the Salesforce mobile app and the Field Service mobile app. Two skills cover the parts of mobile LWC development that are easiest to get wrong. One wires native device capabilities into a component with the correct availability checks. The other confirms that a component primes correctly for offline use.

These skills are part of forcedotcom/sf-skills, the Salesforce open-source collection of agent skills for platform development. The skills follow the open Agent Skills specification and work across AI coding environments including Agentforce Vibes, Claude Code, Cursor, OpenCode, and Codex.

What LWC Mobile Skills Do

Each skill gives your AI agent the authoritative references for a mobile LWC task, such as the current lightning/mobileCapabilities type definitions or the Komaci offline-priming rules. The agent works from the source of truth instead of inferring an API or a rule from memory. Because both surfaces evolve and some methods are deprecated in favor of newer alternatives, this approach keeps the generated code current.

Each skill ships with:

  • A clear contract: what it does, what inputs it expects, and what it produces.
  • Domain knowledge: the patterns, APIs, and conventions for the task.
  • Executable instructions: the agent can perform the work, not just describe it.

Available LWC Mobile Skills

This table lists the Mobile Skills for LWC development.

SkillUse Case
Integrate native device capabilitiesBuild an LWC that uses a native device feature, such as the barcode scanner, biometrics, location, or NFC, through the lightning/mobileCapabilities module, with the correct availability checks and error handling.
Validate LWCs for offline useRun a structured offline-priming review over an LWC, check it against the Komaci offline static analyzer requirements, and get a report of findings with code-level fixes.

Work on an Existing Component

Both skills operate on an LWC that’s already in your project, so point the skill at the component bundle that you want to change or review. To add the skills to your AI coding environment and confirm the environment requirements, see Install Mobile Skills.

  • Integrate Native Device Capabilities with Mobile Skills

Use the mobile-platform-native-capabilities-integrate skill to build Lightning web components that use native mobile device features, such as the barcode scanner, biometrics, location, and NFC, through the lightning/mobileCapabilities module.

  • Validate LWCs for Offline Use with Mobile Skills

Use the mobile-platform-offline-validate skill to run a structured offline-priming review over a Lightning web component and produce a report of findings with code-level fixes.
