Browser Requirements for Tableau Next Embedding

The Embedded SDK supports these web browsers.

  • Google Chrome™ (latest stable version)
  • Mozilla® Firefox® (latest stable version)
  • Microsoft® Edge (latest stable version)
  • Apple® Safari® (latest stable version)

For embedding to work as expected in these browsers, ensure your browser has the correct settings

To render embedded Tableau Next components in Chrome browsers successfully, users must enable use of third-party cookies.

  1. On your device, launch the Chrome browser.

  2. Click the customize menu icon Chrome browser menu icon. in the top-right corner of the browser window.

  3. Select Settings, then select Privacy and security in the left-hand menu.

  4. Click Third-party cookies and enable Allow third-party cookies. Google Chrome browser settings to enable third-party cookies.

  5. Changes are saved automatically.

To render embedded Tableau Next components in Firefox browsers successfully, users must enable use of third-party cookies.

  1. On your device, launch the Firefox browser.

  3. Select Settings, then select Privacy & Security in the left-hand menu.

  4. Under Enhanced Tracking Protection, select Custom.

Microsoft Edge can be used during the Beta period, but it isn't supported.

To render embedded Tableau Next components in Edge browsers successfully, users must update the tracking prevention settings.

  1. On your device, launch the Edge browser.

  2. Click the menu icon Chrome browser menu icon. in the top-right corner of the browser window.

  3. Select Settings, then select Private, Search, and Services in the left-hand menu.

  5. Restart the browser to ensure the updated settings are applied properly.

Apple Safari can be used during the Beta period, but it isn't supported.

To render embedded Tableau Next components in Safari browsers successfully, users must update the cross-site tracking setting.

  1. On your device, launch the Safari browser.
  2. From the Safari menu, select Settings.
  3. Select Privacy.
  4. Disable Prevent cross-site tracking.
