Activate MCP Servers

MCP servers are disabled in your org by default and must be enabled by an administrator before clients can connect. This is a security measure — capabilities that expose org data to external systems require an intentional administrator action to activate.

Warning: If you don't enable your MCP servers, clients will not be able to connect, even with correct authentication.

  1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter MCP Servers, and then select MCP Servers under API Catalog.

  2. Review the list of available servers.

  3. Enable the servers your team needs by toggling them on.

Note: It can take up to 2 minutes for a server to become active after you enable it.

After enabling your MCP servers, proceed to connect your MCP client.
