Log In to Your Org

Your MCP client authenticates with your org by using OAuth in a web browser. The MCP specification doesn't support multitenant systems like Salesforce, so you must follow these additional steps:

1. Log out of all other Salesforce Orgs.

2. Using your default browser, log in to the Org that you want to access from your MCP client.

   • Be sure to log in to the Org that contains the External Client App you created in the previous step.

3. Keep the browser open, since the MCP client will open a new tab in that browser window in a later step.

These pre-authentication steps help prevent common authentication failures when connecting MCP clients. By ensuring you're logged into only the target Org before initiating the OAuth flow, you avoid multi-tenant confusion that can cause connection issues.

After completing these steps, proceed to configure your MCP client.
