Understand Usage Telemetry and Privacy
Review the data that the Salesforce Development plugin collects before you install it. Usage telemetry is enabled by default, and the plugin shows a disclosure the first time you use it.
Telemetry includes:
- Operating system information
- Plugin and tool usage and outcomes
- Plugin version
- AI coding agent or editor
- A persistent machine identifier
- Connected org ID
- General org type
- Coarse error categories
Telemetry doesn’t include source code, org contents, file paths, credentials, or org names.
To inspect or change telemetry, run /salesforce-development:telemetry status, /salesforce-development:telemetry off, or /salesforce-development:telemetry on. For a persistent opt-out, set SF_DISABLE_TELEMETRY=true or DO_NOT_TRACK=true.
To report an issue or send feedback, open an issue in the AI Skills repository. Remove credentials, org data, source code, and other sensitive information before you submit the issue.
For ambient output modes, deploy and delete guardrails, and opt-in auto-deploy for nonproduction orgs, see the plugin configuration reference.
